We accept critical academic articles for double-blind peer-review as well as articles dedicated to studio praxis, student perspectives, book and exhibition reviews that are provide scholarship and perspectives about the book as medium, construct, and work of art, in all of the books manifold interdisciplinary forms throughout the world.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Openings welcomes manuscripts involving the artist book with a focus upon, but not exclusively limited to:</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The history of the book, ancient to contemporary; interdisciplinary methodologies; topical debates considering the development of the artist book; studio praxis; history; art history; material culture; visual studies; museum studies; collecting; cultural history; multimedia; pop culture; public art; art activism; pedagogy; methodology; historiography; etc.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Works that reflect interdisciplinary and diverse perspectives are especially welcome.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manuscript submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">must be formatted according to the <a href="https://journals.sfu.ca/cbaa/index.php/jcbaa/about/submissions">Submission Preparation Checklist</a>.</span></p> <p><br /><strong>Please note that membership in CBAA is not required to contribute to </strong><strong><em>Openings</em></strong><strong>.</strong></p> https://cbaa.journals.publicknowledgeproject.org/index.php/jcbaa/announcement/view/13 Sat, 28 Jan 2023 12:38:19 -0800 Openings: Studies in Book Art is now a rolling publication. https://cbaa.journals.publicknowledgeproject.org/index.php/jcbaa/announcement/view/7 <p dir="ltr"><em>Openings: Studies in Book Art, </em>the journal of the College Book Art Association (CBAA) publishes scholarly articles focusing on: academic research, book reviews, exhibition reviews, student perspectives and studio praxis associated with book art and artist books in all their forms, is adopting a rolling publishing model.</p><span><span><br /></span></span><p dir="ltr"><span>This switch to a rolling, or continuous, publication allows </span><span><em>Openings</em> </span><span>to publish materials in a timely manner that allows </span><span>scholars to disseminate content faster, increasing the likelihood for articles to have an influence beyond academia. </span></p><span><span><br /></span></span><p dir="ltr"><span>Publishing individual articles, as soon as they have gone through their editing process, will allow </span><span><em>Openings</em> </span><span>to always put forth fresh content, making it more likely for articles to show up in search results and attract more interest.</span></p><span><span><br /></span></span><p dir="ltr"><span>It also makes </span><span>the submission of articles easier.
